ON THE BACK BURNER

We had our first back in PT Sunday family meal. While I was gone, the kids have been having 10:30 Sunday coffee together. Now that I am back, we tweaked  it a little and had coffee , bagels and smear cheese. We will keep this schedule until the wedding and then decide if we want to keep it like this or go to Sunday Brunch. The wedding is getting closer and everyone has a job. I'm back to manure, turning over the manure  with the dirt and I guess ,throwing the saw dust on the walk way between the rows.I have a bunch of allium bulbs to plant and just tidying up around the yard. During our coffee time this morning, I lost sight of Dixie. She didn't come when I called for her and I had a few minutes of real concern. I heard her cry and realized that she had gotten herself tucked into the wood shed, her favorite place , and she couldn't find her way out. I suspect that she uses light to find the openings to getting herself out from under the wood and what ever else is in that wood shed. This time, she must have been disoriented because it was a sunny day and she should have been able to get out. She did finally figure out which way was out  and she was none the worse for her challenge. She comes out with a layer of dust and a very dirty mouth.I don't think that she eats anything, she just leads with her nose and since her mouth is right under her nose, she gets it pretty dirty. This is the only activity that she does that lets her act like a real dog. Other than this, she is like a very young child. Sits on laps, wants to be picked up,takes naps, wants to be carried. What a life.
