I've spoken before about the crazy tree in my son's yard. Years ago, someone grafted an apple branch to a pear tree. So now, we get pears and apples from the same tree. The deer manage tho eat , or at least take a bite out
of the lower branches apples. The pears aren't ready to eat, so the deer don't mess with them and neither do we. My grandson is very diligent about saving as many apples as he can from the tree. I figured that I had to do something with them or else it would
just be wasteful. So I made a lot of applesauce. There is a lot waste on these apples and they seemed to have had a rough life. Falling to the ground must be hard. I had to work around a lot of bruises
and misshaped apples. Adding sugar does wonders for applesauce. I also pulled up the last and really first of my beets. I forgot to take a picture of them before I used them. I sent a very few home with
one grandson and left a few on mu son and Dil's door step. I made chips with my few, in my air fryer and then, ate them all. Next year,I will know so much more about veggie gardening. I'll know not to put too many seeds, close together.I didn't give my beets
enough room to grow. So now, I still have my potatoes in the ground, bell peppers, pumpkin and my cucumbers . And my container planting of cherry tomatoes. These never get to the kitchen.I just pluck and eat.
