This photo is to just prove a point. We don't need more space than this to make magic meals. I have had huge kitchens and now a minuscule  kitchen. They both work or worked. My kitchen in Evanston had been three separate areas. A butlers pantry, a 10x10 pantry and a breakfast room , where the second set of stairs , where you could go upstairs without going to the foyer, for going upstairs were. We opened this kitchen area  in a remodeling project .Now that I think about it, it was really big. I cooked for 6 , two meals a day, almost every day. We actually  sat down, twice a day to eat ,almost always together. In those days, going out to eat was super special. McDonald's was anticlimactic. We had our favorite McDonald's,not in Evanston. It was on the border of Chicago/ Evanston. I have no idea now, why we thought those fries tasted better at this place. Fast forward to my present location, which is becoming more permanent than I anticipated, and I can cook for 8 of us, make a terrific mess, clean up, and be happy about the whole process. I think that you almost have to set the bar higher when you work under these space restrictions. I am liking the challenge. Just please, open the fridge very slowly. At your own peril.
