I can be having a perfectly clear head and then I see someone and I remember again being a care giver. I don't think you ever completely recover from that. I can spot a care giver . They are the one who is holding the hand of a person who is a fraction behind them. They are the one making conversation that has no response. They are the ones with one eye on their companion and one eye on everything else around them. curbs , crooked side walks, personal space of others, impatience, all anxiety points to be aware of. Being a lone observer is an Ok place to be. It just reminds me of what I did for so long.  I relive it when ever I see some one who I think is still living my old life. Then, I just take a breath and the head clears.
