We switched yard sale day to today and I hit the jack pot. It was a sale at the county fairgrounds that benefited the fair grounds. It was honor system. You pay what you think it is worth. And, it was as if no one read the
sale page in the local paper. We were the only ones there! I bought 3 beautiful ceramic flower pots,a garden decoration, books and and a ice cream scooper. My son bought 3 left feet. Really. I have no idea what he will do with them, but he has 3 left feet .
Last I saw, one was sitting on top of their mailbox. I suggested that he glue one to each rung of one of the many ladders that are in the wood shed. He does have a ladder that I want for a garden prop. It's one of those three legged ladders used to pick fruit.
So far, all of their fruit trees are small enough that they can be picked without a ladder. All except a pear/ apple tree. Who ever owned this back lot grafted an apple to a pear tree and we get both fruit off of the same trunk. The
apples are just OK. I made a crisp with them and it was too dry. The birds and squirrels like them, though.I just wish that they would eat the whole fruit. So wasteful.
