ON THE BACK BURNER

It wasn’t elegant, dinner was served in pots and pans, but we had a wonderful Shabbat dinner. This bring your own dishes idea because of the Covid, is a pretty neat idea. The kids bring their own place settings, I put the food out on the table on the deck , we have our own cafe type tables,and the rest is up to them. We say the traditional Shabbat prayers and then it is dig  in time. Tonight’s Challah is getting pretty close to the best one that I have made. I don’t understand why I am having so much trouble getting the Challah right. As soon as I get a 10 from the crowd, I’ll make a Challah to bring to their neighbor who invites us to play croquet .I am in the 8 to 8.5 category right now.  Tonight we had cheese grits and shrimp. This I got perfect. I always ask them what do they want me to cook for next week.. answer, cheese grits and shrimp. I’ll think about it.

Everything sounds so wonderful Leona. Venice will seem boring . I would want to move to Portownsend where the kids are living. All sounds great . Is there?
