A few hours ago Bob got a hearing aid. He has insisted that he doesn't need one. That I have to talk clearer. I think I talk like I write. With a lot of punctuation, many commas and mispronounced words. But after 62 years, he had two choices. Ask me to repeat or just smile and pretend he heard me. Now he actually can. On the way home from the hearing orientation, he commented on hearing the tires on the road, how flushing the toilet before we left the VA was really loud and how he didn't realize that he wasn't hearing. Later,He even asked me if I heard that bird chirping while we were watching TV. What bird. I didn't hear one.! Unfortunately, when cleaning the aid, just like we were shown , I broke it. Don't ask. I don't know how I did this. Since we only have a very short window for me to go back to the VA and have them repair it, I have my fingers and toes crossed that they can just do magic and put it back together what I damaged. Less than 8 hours and I already broke it.! I guess that I have to put on my big girl pants and just face the music..only I hope they play it very softly.
