New Page-New Day

It's Never Too Late

Today is our 59th wedding anniversary. That is a long time to be with one person. In fact, I am not old enough to be married that many years. At least I don't feel that old. Many years ago, our youngest child, then in middle school, told us that we, his parents, were an embarrassment to him because he had nothing to say to his friends when they talked about their parents divorce.Sorry about that.

Today I want to think about "Ani". that's one of the first words that I learned when I started Hebrew lessons. I am. Later, I learned to say "My name is leah. But I enjoyed saying "Ani Leah".I tried it out when I was being questioned at the airport by  Israeli security. He wasn't that impressed, but I felt empowered.I was speaking Hebrew to an Israeli for the first time.

I'm not comfortable with languages. This year, I am starting yet another Hebrew class.I need to know street language but what I  get here in my community is Biblical Hebrew. It'll have to do until I get to an Ulpon.

I can visualize me saying, in Hebrew,in Israel--It's never too late.
